Teaching literacy level students is a rewarding experience, but many instructors lack confidence in their ability to teach literacy level adults. In this course you will learn about the needs of literacy level students and effective teaching strategies.

This course will help ABE/ESL/GED teachers and tutors understand mental health disorders common to the adult population by accessing and applying information from the Minnesota ABE Disabilities website.

Any class with more than one student is multilevel, whether the source of the "multi" is educational, generational, or cultural. One key in these circumstances is to develop realistic expectations. Another key is to use a number of "multi" strategies. This course will help you find those keys.

The New Citizenship Tutor Training educates teachers and tutors to assist students in preparing for the new citizenship exam that began on October 1, 2008.

This course provides an orientation to adult basic education in Minnesota for instructors who are new to the field or would like a review of the basics. NOTE: The course is currently under development and will be completed in spring 2010.

This online training is available for Minnesota Reading Corps site supervisors.
This is a place where volunteer teachers and tutors from the MLC Northeast Learning Center evening program can access curriculum, report on classes, connect with each other, and get program updates from Jodi.
Moodle is an open-source learning management system (LMS) that is freely available for anyone to use. We will use this course to guide us as we learn about the many features that can be found in Moodle.
