Are people using the Reading for Life volumes by Linda Strand to help teach CASAS competencies? How often do you integrate her materials?

Suzanne -

I'm aware of a few teachers who use Linda's materials but our program is not actively correlating this as a resource for teaching the competencies.  The basic course text we're using in our leveled classes, Stand Out, is correlated with the competencies.  I think including Reading for Life should definitely be included in a list of resources to support teaching the CASAS competencies.  Do you know if anyone has such a list?

Check out http://www.mnabeassessment.com/competency_links.html It has links to many online lesson plans that are linked to the CASAS competencies. That includes links between the CASAS competencies and the online version of the Reading for Life volumes.
