Discussion Question E:

The authors write that ESL programs are an “anchoring process” where students can “articulate their own personal histories, expectations, and struggles associated with the search for home” (p.219). There is an assumption here that ESL classes are powerful places where much more is happening than just language and literacy learning. What do you think?

Elaborate from your own experience.
