New Citizenship Test

A new, more difficult, citizenship test is supposed to be coming out in the near future. The goal is to have a test that can't be passed with rote memorization of the material. Have you heard when it will be coming out? What kinds of questions will there be? What are the implications for teaching citizenship to low literacy level students?

I found this link to the USCIS new "100 questions" for the Citizenship test.

Gail sent this link to the USCIS web page that has several documents, including the one I linked above:

On the uscis website, they also provide the vocabulary that will be needed for the new test (reading and writing). Click on the titles below:

I'm in Maryland. Our local USCIS community liason is willing to provide workshops on the new test for groups such as yours. Maybe it's possible in Minnesota, too.

According to what I've read and heard, there are no plans to change the interview.

The Study for the US citizenship test website, has new interactive audio and print quizzes to practice answering the questions on the new test.

New Study guides in pdf will be online by October 1st.
